James Wallace Douglas Jr (1942 - 2023), 80, better known as Jason, passed away in his sleep on March 21st, 2023.
Jason was born in Westchester County. New York to Josephine Hewett and James Wallace Douglas Sr. He is predeceased by both his parents and all three of his brothers Edmund, Barry, and Francis. He is survived by his three children Christopher, Daniel, and Janine, and one granddaughter Alivah.
Jason had an adventurous life, living in diverse places from New York to Montreal to Calgary to British Columbia. He had an incredible artistic mind and soul, especially in the areas of writing, photography, and music. He was a gifted storyteller who received acclaim for his works of fiction. He also was an avid collector of art from a library full of books, crates full of old vinyl records, and dozens of his framed photographs. He will also be remembered for his incredible memory in recounting major American sporting events. Some of which he personally witnessed as a live spectator. In his later years, he developed a deep appreciation for the Canadian outdoors, especially the Queen Charlotte islands.
In lieu of flowers and a ceremony, we encourage anybody wishing to honour his memory to donate to the Canadian Diabetes Foundation in his name.
