Violet Mae Fairbridge

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Violet May Fairbridge, 83.

Violet passed away peacefully at the Penticton Regional Hospital on March 18, 2022. She will be dearly missed. Violet is survived by her husband of 57 years, Barry, sons Robin and Derek (Mindy), and grandsons Linus and Isaac.

Violet was born to Will and Ida Cass in 1938 in Trail, BC, where she grew up with her sisters, Mary and Elaine, and brother, Richard. She married Barry in 1964. After a brief stop in Victoria, Violet and Barry settled in Penticton where they raised their two sons.

Violet was a loving, caring wife, mother and grandmother who appreciated the quiet life and a good hot cup of tea. She was an avid gardener, a voracious reader and crossword puzzler, and loved spending time with family.

The family would like to extend its warmest thanks to the medical staff at the Penticton Regional Hospital for their gracious care and support. In keeping with Violet’s wishes, there will be no memorial service. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Penticton Regional Hospital or the Arthritis Society would be greatly appreciated.
